As you’ll have seen from our previous post, we were planning that our first trip abroad in the campervan was going to be to Italy. Sadly, for us (and Italy) we’re going to postpone our trip there because of the Coronavirus outbreak. Instead, we’re thinking of going to Northern France. In reality, I think the likelihood of coming across someone who has contracted the virus is really small, however, we’d rather not take the risk of a.) actually contracting it and b.) having difficulties getting back into the UK (or having to self-quarantine) if the virus outbreak in Italy suddenly got a lot worse. Obviously, it could get worse in France too, but at the moment, it’s not as bad there as it’s been in Italy. So, whilst I’m sure we’re being stupidly cautious, there’s no need to take unnecessary risks. If the Six Nations Rugby matches in Italy have been postponed, then maybe there is a slight risk…

We’re looking forward to getting to Italy (particularly Lake Como etc) as soon as the risk from this virus has receded. Italy’s loss is France’s gain..
